Beginning of Rhodezephrys

A group of City-States still thrived on the Westcoast, a remnant of the Anaxanean Empire, sharing a common religious cult of the Jackal-headed god, known as Obmhann or Ellmarvig. Each city was ruled by a petty king and his closest kin.
In time, these cities united, forming a Council of Nobles, each family ruling their respective realms as monarchs, only uniting to make momentous trade decisions and make war upon their enemies or one another. When one of these minor kingdoms was defeated, the victors divided the spoils, intermarrying their families to continue the conquered region’s rule.
Fifteen hundred years of growth in size and power, since the Destruction of the Temple Mount, Typhoon’s Rage, has made these cities prosperous. Sending fleets far and wide across the seas, they were the only peoples to contact the few colonies left on the Lost Continent across the great western sea, Zephyr’On. Those colonies are a remnant of a dream.
In the years before the Herrodian War, Rhodezephrys was united under the rule of Khagan Merrodan and his Khans.
