Chronos, the Timkeeper
Chronos, the Timekeeper, is a figure of monumental significance in the cosmos, born from the realm of mortals and ascended to godhood to become the steward of time and fate. Their symbol, an hourglass within an infinity symbol, perfectly encapsulates their control over the ceaseless flow of time. This stewardship manifests in their creation of chronomancy when they were still a mortal, a potent school of magic that allows for the manipulation of time itself, a testament to their unparalleled comprehension of time's intricacies.
It was the primordial Nethras who touched Chronos and sparked their ascension, solidifying their position as a god. The event led to the creation of the Realm of Time, Eterna, a testament to their profound influence on the fabric of the universe. This was the first stone of the First Ascension, and it was followed by the ascension of Elemos, the Elemental Sovereign, and finally Somnaria, the Dreamweaver.
Chronos' reign was cut short by the catastrophic event known as the Great Sundering, initiated by the shattering of the Crystal Nexus. This sent out a devastating arcane pulse that radiated from this event shattered Chronos, instigating a tumultuous chain of events that sent the realms spiralling into chaos and violence. The shards of the shattered god destabilized Zenthara, the Realm of Elements, leaving it vulnerable when the March of the Usurpers caused the final trauma that led to the explosion of the Elemental Chaos, destroying Zenthara and Elemos. This explosion ripped through and unraveled the Dreamweave, from which Somnaria was narrowly able to escape.
Despite their destruction, Chronos' legacy endures. Their champion weilded a shard of the fallen Timekeeper to vanquish Vorrak, the Destroyer, becoming the final god to ascend and ending the Shattered War. This champion would become the Eternal Arbiter. As the new steward of fate and death, the Eternal Arbiter now carries on Chronos' mantle, ensuring the continuance of their legacy in the cosmos.
Eterna: The Shattered Realm of Time
Eterna was the divine realm of the god of time, Chronos. This intricate and ever-changing labyrinth embodied the ebb and flow of time itself, with its paths and corridors shifting like the sands of an hourglass. Now a fragmented and unstable remnant of its former glory, whatever is left of Eterna exists as a series of disjointed temporal shards, suspended in the vast sea of existence, scattered across the crosmos. It is believed that those who manage to reach these shards risk becoming lost in time, trapped in loops or flung into unknown eras. The once-majestic labyrinth stands as a solemn reminder of the potential consequences of power and the delicate balance of the cosmos.
