It is believed that in life, Aelor created the abjuration school of magic.
Aelor was among the first gods of the Guardian Pantheon to answer the call to defend Myrathis from the threat of the Usurper Gods during the Shattered War. In the battles that ensued, Aelor confronted Sylthara, the Covetous Serpent, a Usurper God representing greed. During their epic clash, Sylthara managed to bite Aelor. The blood that fell from Aelor's wound, imbued with divine essence and mingling with Sylthara's venom, would come to fertilize the earth, eventually giving rise to Blue Aetharis Flowers. These flowers, in turn, possess potent arcane properties and can be processed into the highly addictive substance known as Blue Aethar.
