Noria

Noria is a continent in the central part of the world. It is almost fully covered in desert. It is currently ruled by the Union of the Six Cities of Noria.

History

In the young world, Noria was ruled by the empire Sarth until The great Disaster turned much of the continent into an uninhabitable wasteland and destroyed its ancient civilisation.

Durghamian Rule

The first civilisation since the great Disaster to claim the contitent of Noria was The Kingdom of Durgham. Due to it's lack of agricultural possibilities it was used as an island for exile condemnation under the Kingdom's reign during the Era of the Four Kingdoms. These banished criminals and other social outcasts from the other continents were considered the first generation of Norim. Though later generations of Norim gained people's rights and established small to medium sized cities, the continent continued to be formally and factually ruled by the Kingdom of Durgham.

Rule under the Union

After the fall of Durgham, the Norim and their cities gained independence and organised themselves as the Union of the Six Cities of Noria. The newfound sovereignty and its central location in Myr made the continent of Noria a keypoint in the most important trading routes of the world. The continuous growing of the Six Cities and their population, the free use of magic and the economic importance of its location made the USCN become a world power ruling uninterrupted over Noria ever since.

Geography and Climate

In the Young World, Noria had a moderate to warm climate with less than average humidity. Its flora ranged from steppe to small forests. The great Disaster changed this however. Currently Noria is almost entirely covered in desert. Only a few oases remain as green spots on the continent. The climate is extremely dry and hot, making it an impossible living space for most species.   Noria consists of its main landmass in the centre of the world and a small island in the south-east of it. There are no rivers, mountains or other natural landmarks on the continent with the exception of a few oases. Its most notable features are the Six Cities of Noria, of which five (Marcea , Cindrea, Vestea , Tezetea and Helea ) are located on the mainland and one ( Rostea )on the only island of Noria. Additionally there are a few human made canal-systems to ensure water supply to the cities and small agricultural sites.
