Silk is in good physical condition. She is a slim Kitsune woman who is extremely limber and agile. She is not particularly strong, but doesn't feel she needs to be.

Her favorite outfits include kimonos and cheongsams, which she pairs with beaded belts and pouches for a touch of tribal flair. Her bag is a Kitsune and Tribal themed satchel (Fox Totem) crafted by her grandfather,, She often accessorizes with fox-themed jewelry. She wears her Shadow in a crossdraw holster on her left hip, and her Specter is in a back holster.

Personal history
Kaiya was born in Seattle to her mothers, Kaitlyn Yamaguchi and Aya Brightfeather.
Kaitlyn was a former Arasaka spy and assassin who defected in 2015 after being assigned to assassinate a Militech agent collaborating with a local nomad group. During a visit to the nomad camp to warn them, Kaitlyn met Aya, a member of that group. After a couple of years with the Family, Kaitlyn and Aya formally married.
In 2021, the two decided they wanted a daughter, so they approached a Biotechnica lab to create a child using thier combined DNA. Since Kaitlyn was unable to carry her, Aya took on that role. On March 20, 2022, Kaiya Yamaguchi was born.
Kaiya’s life was unpredictable. Her mothers had separated from the nomad family and turned to adult streaming for income. With Arasaka no longer active in North America, they faced no major threats, and their stream became highly successful. Over time, both women rose to the status of high-class joytoys. As a result, Kaiya grew up in a life of style and security, though she was frequently exposed to her mothers’ work.
When she was 5, her parents had her biosculpted as a kitsune to not only bring out her own capricious nature, but to show both of thier reverance to fox spirits.
This became a challenge for Kaiya as she had to understand her own unique nature. The genetic and mental manipulations that created her introduced traits that made her part human, part fox, literally awakening fox instincts within her. She experienced intense shifts between playful and aggressive behavior, and her mothers noticed her strong preference for meat along with sharp teeth capable of deep bites. While she learned to control these swings as she matured, they remained an integral part of her personality. When her mothers sought answers from Biotechnica, the scientists had no explanation, as the specialist who designed her had since left the company.
One area where Kaiya excelled was in charisma. She was always polite, knew exactly how to get what she wanted, and could adapt her demeanor to fit any situation. Her unpredictable nature, however, sometimes made her hard to control, as her mothers often couldn’t fully discern what she was truly thinking.
As she got older, she started helping her parents in thier trade, at first, helping with makeup, dressing and clean up. eventually, she started her own stream, it was not explicit, but she still got a lot of views and fell in love with it.
Now 16, she started also going with her parents to clubs and bars. That's when she learned her Kaitlyn's real job. Fixer. many of these meetings were very social, almost parties, but where business was conducted. She started making good contacts at these parties, and.. sometimes learned more than she bargained for.
When she was 18, the family decided it was time to move. Kaiya was never told why, only that they were on the road with Aldecaldos heading south. In the middle of the night.
When they got to Night City, her family quickly got set up and got on the party scene. Kaiya was now doing a fully nude stream, and occasionally having a partner with her. She was also still attending the parties, but now was just as often having "fun" as anyone else.
Over the years, she got to know many people, and was a full time star and joytoy by the time she was 21. Many times, her clients were minor people of power that gave her access to the gangs and minor corps. It was during this time she took the name Silk Mistdancer, mostly because she had a voice like silk, though some say its because she did a lot of work in the "silks."
From ages 19 to 23, Silk attended NCU, where she developed a reputation as someone who could help students get what they needed. Known unofficially as a joygirl on campus, she used this reputation to her advantage, improving her grades and enjoying the mix of fun and financial gain.
During her time at NCU, she had two significant relationships: Carla Fuentes and Kimiko Chen. Carla tragically lost her life in her junior year to a serial killer, and Kimiko disappeared the day after their graduation, with the case swiftly closed by the NCPD. Silk is now driven to find the killer and make them suffer, as well as to uncover the truth behind Kimiko’s disappearance and the suspiciously hasty closure of her case.
By the time Silk was 23, she had close friends in the Maelstrom and the Philharmonic Vampires and was acquainted with lower-ranking members of other groups. She often worked on side deals for her mother, honing her own networking skills in the process.
Then, in July 2046, her world shifted. Returning home from a party, she found her mothers gone, leaving only a note:
"Honey, you can do this. Don’t be afraid. We have to go. If the Kitsune and Fox Spirits allow, we will meet again. The bills are paid for a month—after that, it’s up to you. There are things in the safe. They’re yours now. Use your skills. Survive. We’ve taught you everything you need to know to succeed in this city."
At the safe, she discovered two Arasaka pistols, the Shadow and the Specter, along with ammunition, and several boxes marked “Paid” with appointment dates. The boxes contained a cyberaudio suite, a Raven Microcybernetics Drake, a Level Dampener, a voice stress analyzer, and a Kiroshi cybereye with chyron and microvideo functions. Checking the dates, she saw they were for a local ripper.
Once Silk had her upgrades installed, she contacted her Vampyre friend Celeste Nocturna, who helped her secure a rental container near the university. Silk moved there, taking what belongings she could. Fully embracing her new life, she officially changed her name to Silk Mistdancer and continued her Garden Patch channel.
Soon after, she met Suzie Franklin, a film student, and skillfully seduced her. Recognizing Suzie’s talent, Silk enlisted her to film and edit her streams, ensuring they looked polished. In exchange, Silk kept Suzie supplied with smash, synthcoke, and even provided her with a shotgun. Silk was a bit surprised by how easily Suzie became attached, so she tested her loyalty by inviting Suzie to join her in a stream with a hired partner. Suzie, easily manipulated, not only agreed but enjoyed the experience. Since then, Silk occasionally includes Suzie in her streams and has taken to referring to her as a girlfriend she “shares,” sometimes for profit.
However, not all of Silk’s work went smoothly. She was hired for a party by Lieutenant Jason Taylor, who claimed it would be a small gathering with friends. When she arrived, she found it was actually a party for an entire platoon. Though she had the cyber enhancements to handle it, Silk was still annoyed by the deception. Worse, Taylor refused to pay her. Fortunately, another officer stepped in, paying Silk himself, with additional tips from others in attendance. But this caused Taylor trouble within Militech, and now, he holds a grudge—and is determined to kill Silk.
Silk has started establishing herself as a fixer for hire, knowing that if she wants real influence and power, she’ll need to go beyond porn and joytoy work. With ambitions of becoming either an edgerunner herself or a fixer to edgerunners, she’s setting her sights on making a name in the city's underworld, and maybe even run her own brothel.

Mental Trauma
Despite feeling that she is fine. Silk has never really been human, and sometimes has a hard time adjusting. She has become very adaptable, but, occasionally... she just feels lost. Her kitsune nature has made her a bit aggressive, and she gets depressed when she has to eat kibble. However, most people would never see this. She hides it well. She also has lived a life surrounded by sex. She doesn't really "feel" anything when she has sex, and that sometimes shows. The disappearance of her mothers also has her stressed. She has a feeling she knows that they are dead. And they taught her what she needs to survive, but she liked the sense of family, and is trying to make her own.
Morality & Philosophy
Silk’s morality is primarily driven by the need to survive. She is not inherently a moral person, though she desires to be. However, she finds that trying to adhere to moral ideals often interferes with her survival. While she would prefer to love people, she often ends up using them instead, which makes her difficult to truly connect with. Beneath her smile, she is constantly calculating how any interaction might serve her own interests.
When it comes to violence, Silk is not naturally inclined toward it, but her predatory instincts sometimes demand it. She typically keeps these instincts in check, but occasionally, she slips, and the "beast," as she calls it, takes over. In these moments, any trace of compassion vanishes, replaced by a cold cruelty that seeks to cause significant harm to whoever becomes the target. It is during these times that her inhuman nature becomes most apparent.
Silk’s philosophy is rooted in honoring her ancestors, but she feels a profound disconnect from them due to her non-human nature. Instead, she finds a deeper connection with the mythical kitsune and fox totems of her two peoples. To her, life is a journey—one she must navigate as best she can, believing that doing so will be enough to satisfy the spirits.
She approaches these totems with a playful attitude, engaging in games not only with her friends but even with her enemies during battle. At times, she manifests a capricious nature, which can become dangerously unpredictable. Her emotions can shift rapidly—from playful to angry, and then to violent. While Shinto provides some balance for her, Silk feels little true connection to it. Instead, she more closely embodies the totemic ideals of the Coastal Salish, reflecting their influence in her actions and mindset.

Motivation
Silk’s primary motivation is survival, but once she feels secure, her ambitions shift toward power and influence. She craves fame and wants recognition from important figures, desiring her name to be known widely. She also dreams of running a brothel, seeing it as a way to have others generate wealth for her. Beneath these goals, however, lies a secret longing she barely admits even to herself: the desire to find a family.

Silk is adept at persuasion, and her skill in the bedroom enhances her ability to get what she wants, often helping her secure her goals with ease. However, her impatience is well-known; if things don’t move quickly enough, she grows increasingly annoyed.

This trait is one she learned from her mothers, who taught her to be sweet and endearing until people warmed to her, then subtly guide them into the roles she needed, ultimately convincing them that it was their own true nature.

- Suzie Franklin – Lover/Photographer. She lives next door at University Cargo Bay. Silk gets her Smash and synthcoke, as well as her new shotty. She also is in some of her streams. She is basicly a joytoy if Silk wanted her to take clients.
- Violet Nocturna – Occasional lover/client. She is a low-ranking member of the Philharmonic Vampyres. Silk can usually get drugs and some guns from her. Has been in some of my streams. She has hired Silk for a couple parties.
- Bloody Rena – Low Level Maelstrom member. We have known each other for a while. She works with one of the fixers of the gang and helps me get guns and things. I have done many favors for her, from sexual to others.
Enemies and Rivals
- 1st Lt. Jason Taylor – Low Level Militech Exec. He hired Silk for a party, she showed up, did what she was supposed to do, even though it was misrepresented. He refused to pay her, and another Militech officer present paid her, along with many of the men and women there. This made him look bad, and affected his career at the corp. He really can only affect me himself, but he wants to kill me.
- Ellen Bryant – Local fixer, runs a bar. Silk is starting to cut into her business. Ellen is not as well connected as Silk, but she doesn’t see it that way. Ellen isn’t quite sure what to do, and Silk doesn’t know she exists. If she did, she would likely try to bring Ellen under her control.
- Hanako Tasaio – Member of the Tyger Claws, and an Arasaka Spy. Hanako has heard of Silk and her mothers and is curious because her mother looked familiar. Hanako started to look into the matter when Kaitlyn disappeared. She is considering befriending, or hiring, Silk and gaining her trust to find out more.

Her mothers, Kaitlyn Yamaguchi and Aya Brightfeather have disappeared. She is sure that they haven't gone back to the nomads, other than that she has no idea. Silk, herself, may have some connection to the Aldecaldos, but she is not sure. If anyone knew, it would be the Aldecaldo Elders.

Silk is vaguely Shinto mixed with Salish ancestor worship. She is more spiritual than religious, but she often will call upon either Fox as a totem, or the spirit of the Kitsune.
