Personal history

Alisette Carter was born on November 18, 2021, at the Norcal Military Base to Tony and Ellen Carter, both Militech Intelligence Agents. Ellen transitioned to Data Analysis, while Tony was assigned to Anti-Arasaka Operations in Night City.
Alisette’s early childhood was secure, growing up deep within the Militech Compound. She blossomed into a striking young woman, attracting many admirers. Alongside her formal education, she received training in various weapon skills, as her parents hoped she might pursue a career in security. They even believed Lexie, her personal security guard, was a positive influence. However, tragedy struck when Alisette was 17: both her parents were mysteriously killed. She was taken in by Kyle Johannes, a family friend and Militech Sales Executive—or so she believed.
Life in her new home quickly turned into a nightmare. Johannes was, at best, an inattentive guardian, and at worst, a tyrant. He often beat her for minor infractions while ignoring serious issues. A year later, things took a darker turn when three of his managers—Jason Hughes, Kenneth Scott, and Dominic Morgan—gained access to her. They abused and assaulted her for years, treating her as their “favorite plaything.” Alisette was forced to endure their cruelty, even being expected to “entertain” them and major clients during meetings.
By the time she turned 20, Johannes sought to boost his department’s sales. Using attractive women to promote products wasn’t new, but he decided to exploit Alisette for this purpose. He sent her to Biotechnica for sculpting, enhancing her body with larger breasts, a more athletic physique, and the installation of a Midnight Lady enhancement. Johannes rationalized this as a “gift” to make her life easier and perhaps discourage the managers from tormenting her further. He also hired four other women, all joytoys, to create a new sales initiative.
The campaign launched with Alisette and the other women as models. Alisette quickly became a favorite among soldiers and buyers, thanks to her prior combat training. She handled weapons with ease and grace, never flinching during gunfire and always maintaining a composed demeanor. Her rise in popularity was swift, and she soon became the top model, posing in bikinis, lingerie, and other provocative attire. Her images were featured in e-zines, catalogs, and promotional materials, and she made appearances at various Militech bases. Despite the circumstances, Alisette enjoyed aspects of the job, particularly firing weapons and showcasing her sculpt.
At 21, Alisette met Jenna Monroe, the daughter of Captain Jessie Monroe, a Militech armor officer. The two quickly formed a close bond, and Jenna’s father fully approved of their relationship. For two years, they dated, with Johannes tolerating the relationship as long as Alisette continued her work and didn’t get “too serious.” However, Jason and the others grew resentful when they discovered that Alisette and Jenna had secretly married and planned to move in together. Dominic decided to take action.
When Alisette was 23, during a meet-and-greet with 6th Street buyers, Dominic orchestrated a heinous plot. He sent a fake message to Jenna, luring her to Watson, where he hired edgerunners to violently murder her and create a braindance (BD) of the act. A Militech clerk placed the BD in Alisette’s dressing room, knowing she often watched BDs to relax. This BD, edited to prevent her from turning it off, shattered her. The crew returned to the base, but Alisette managed to pass the BD to Martha, a sympathetic colleague. Martha’s editor analyzed it and discovered it was far too professionally made for a mere boostergang. This revelation would later reach Alisette.
Back at the base, Jason and the others beat Alisette in a fit of rage. For the first time, Johannes intervened. Unfortunately, Dominic had prepared for this. He used an airgun to drug Johannes and handed him over to scavengers.
Meanwhile, Captain Monroe began investigating Jenna’s murder. Jason and Dominic framed an old enemy of Monroe’s, planting evidence to implicate him. Enraged, Monroe confronted the man and killed him in a fit of rage. This manipulation led to Monroe being investigated, descending into alcoholism, and eventually taking his own life. The message to Alisette was clear: she was under the control of the three executives, and escape was impossible.
By 24, Alisette was desperate to find a way out. A fan reached out, and she seized the opportunity. She met Maria Ochoa, a member of the 6th Street Gang. They partied together, got drunk, and woke up the next morning as friends. Over time, they exchanged gifts and grew closer, all while Alisette worked hard to boost her sales, hoping to keep her bosses satisfied and out of her personal life.
Maria eventually convinced Alisette to pitch an idea to the execs: suggesting that she should become an edgerunner to help sell more weapons. To her surprise, her father agreed, under one condition: she would have to wear a braindance (BD) recorder during her missions to capture everything she did. She told Maria, and Maria made sure she understood she would need to edit people’s faces out of their braindances.
For the next year, Alisette worked closely with Sergeant James Takahashi, her former drill instructor from her youth. Under his guidance, she became proficient with rifles, automatic weapons, and handguns. Once she was ready, she hit the streets as an edgerunner, starting with a few easy jobs, but exclusively using Militech weapons. Her combat skills and image quickly made her a massive hit on the Patch. She also made sure her editor, a woman she hired named Echo, a BD editor who worked with the Philharmonic Vampires, edited out whatever the edgerunners wanted, as well as changing their voices. The two of them became fast friends and occasional lovers.
The best part of her new career was the freedom it granted her. As an edgerunner, she was able to move out of the Militech compound and away from the oppressive control of her bosses. Now, Alisette is determined to uncover the truth about who murdered her wife, Jenna, and seeks a way to destroy the execs’ grip on her life. At the same time, she’s focused on expanding her fame, aiming to become even more widely known and respected in both the edgerunner world and Militech circles.
Though she has no intention of leaving Militech, she wants to see someone else in charge of her department, someone who doesn’t abuse her. However, as she gets closer and closer to the edgerunning world, who knows what will happen.

Years of neglect, sexual abuse, and emotional trauma have left Alisette deeply scarred. These experiences have distorted her self-image, causing her to view herself primarily as a sex object. However, her most personal goal remains uncovering the truth behind her wife Jenna's murder and, to a lesser extent, discovering what happened to her stepfather.
