The mome fruit flourishes in the tropical islands in the Yalisi Empire and along the southern coasts of the island of Fuma, serving as an important crop for the area.
Many insects are known to feast on mome fruits. In the east, the mome fruit has become more endangered due to the predation by insects, but in the west there is no such problem. At the furthest reaches of the west, almost north enough to reach the Ghawle Duarchy, it is almost an invasive species and takes resources from other native plants that are closer to the temperate zones along the west coast.

Mome fruit is a staple in Yalisi culture. Trees are grown in small farms. Their flowers are often cultivated for eating as well, but the mome tree berries are the primary crop.
Mome can be prepared in many ways. It can be eaten whole, as the rind of the fruit and the seeds are edible; juiced into a sugary drink; or in desserts as a pastry filling or served with other fruits.
