Orcs

Orcs come in various sizes and forms, and are in terms of societies as versatile as Humans. Though seen as an evil race by some, within the Westfork the The Night's Watch is known especially for their kindness towards the race. Orcs are often found in kingdoms, tribes or warbands, but also as inhabitants of human kingdoms. In regard to the Westfork, keep in mind that especially in Myrtanian regions (Vengard: Chantry of Fire or Montera) orcs are generally killed on sight, while being despised in Luthetia.

Character creation

For orc stats, either those listed for a Half-orc or those for an Orc can be used (of course not considering any alignment-related statements). Recommendations on which to choose are found for each likely orc origin below.

Settlements

As stated before orcs are widespread throughout Mundus. However concerning the campaign, the following places of origin can be considered:
  • Kingdom of Orsinium (recommended stats: Half-orc)
  • Inhabitant of Orcia in the lands of the The Night's Watch (recommended stats: Half-orc)
  • Angmarian Orc (past the RedWaste, generally requires the Orc stats as Angmarians originate from Nordmar)
  • Nordmar Orc (from the North, generally requires the Orc stats as Nordmarian orcs are tougher orcs)
  • Southern wildling Orc (recommended stats: Half-orc)

Mythological Origin

In the world of Mundus, orcs became a mortal race after the first era: the Godwards. Orcs originate from Malacath's plane of Ashpit as they were sent into war to fight by their Daedric prince. This is similar to other goblinoids which is why many orcs feel some kind of kinship to goblins and trolls.

Inclined religion

In the past, larger societies of Orcs have generally allied themselves with Daedric princes such as Malacath and Beliar and somewhat more rarily with Mehrunes Dagon. This is not to say other gods cannot exist in an orc tribe's perceived pantheon, but these are the most famous ones.
