Dremora

The dremora are a widespread race throughout the Daedric planes of Oblivion. Dremora are ambitious humanoid daedra with innate magical gifts. Dremoras tend to organize themselves in some sort of society placing themselves at its higher ends. They are considered higher daedra but have many ranks among their own kin. They are a particular common sight among the armies of Mehrunes Dagon. The dremora are comparable to Thieflings in appearance, though Dremora find their origin through Daedric creation.

Hierarchy

Dremora society is divided in many tiers, as shown below.

Soldiers

The lowest rank of Dremora are the soldiers. They are somewhat powerful but seasoned warriors can dispatch of them when encountering them in small numbers. On their own planes they are numerous however.

Churl

The lowest ranking foot soldiers among the Kyn (other name for the Dremora society). They are regular fighters often bearing maces, know some spellcasting and are able to shoot a bow.

Caitiff

A dremora Caitiff is a shock-trooper among the Kyn army. They are your typical Dremora Barbarian and should be met with caution.

Kynval

The knights among the Kyn army, these warriors tend to wield greatswords into battle. Additionally, they have a more extensive knowledge of spellcasting and often command lesser daedra and sometimes even churls.

Officers

Dremora officers both act as military commanders as well as members of regional government. They are true forces to be reckoned with and have a much greater spell casting knowledge. For example, mages among the officer ranks are able to conjure Atronachs to their cause.

Kynreeve

A regional official acting as field commander for lower-level dremora. They are more specialized compared to their brethren, specializing in either mage-craft, archery or fighting (though they still possess abilities similar to the lower-level dremora in the other fields).

Kynmarcher

A Kynmarcher typically serves as a local minor lord or a high-ranking officer in the Kyn army. A Kynmarcher will make short-work of any foe opposing them and are particular powerful.

Kyn Nobility

At the high-end of the Dremora hierarchy one finds the nobility. Although they differ significantly within their ranks, the Dremora nobility is particularly powerful. Among them are warrios able to fell entire mortal battalions and conjurers able to command Xivilai into battle.

Markynaz

A dremora lord, these Markynaz are roughly a daedric equivalent of a grand duke or count. They are members of the Markyn, the Council of Lords. Although the Markynaz still wear Dremora armor, they tend to carry Daedric Weaponry around making them powerful foes to face.

Valkynaz

The Valkynaz are similar to Dremora Princes (named after Daedric Princes). They are members of the Valkyn, a Daedric Prince's "Royal Guard". Only a few times through history have they been encountered in Mundus. They are equipped with Daedric weaponry and the like. A Valkynaz can wipe out the most powerful of foes and can't be faced without preparation if victory is desirable.
