Wei Tianlan
Wei Xian, courtesy name Tianlan, is a cultivator (monk) from a distant land. Believing in the motto of her original sect, to "archieve the impossible", she is now on the run for researching demonic cultivation (in reality she was researching forbidden texts to furter understanding Qi and the actual difference between heavenly and demonic cultivation).
She will not give up on her research and she thinks that now that she is a whole realm away her pursuers will stop. (She was actually framed by the leader of a rival sect, who wants to subjugate her and her inventions, but she doesn't know this).
She left instead of fighting because she doesn't wish to risk the wellbeing of her sect.
She was taken in the sect as a young child after losing her parents and feels a debt of filiality to the sect leader, who treated her like family (he often said if she was male she would have been head dishiple, he was hoping of arranging a marriage with his son).
Her motto: "Something is impossible until someone makes it possible (I can be that someone)"
She is easily distracted, extremely intelligent and skilled but a bit arrogant.
She has studied the six arts with the other noble children, wich include rites, horse riding, archery, math, calligraphy (and talisman making, wich is her speciality) and music.
She does not rememer her parents, as they died when she was very ypung. Luckily she was immediately taken in by jue xin sect leader, who claimed to know her parents.
When she casts spells her dragon blood makes her eyes glow.

ORGANIZATIONS:
Major sects (Tianren, Jue Xin, Yin, Feng, and the now exterminated Hui) are like noble families who train young warriors (monks) in the way of immortality through martial arts and meditating on the laws of the universe. Minor sects are numerous and act like minor noble houses affiliated with major sects. Outside of the spiritual side of the realm, noble families and the emperor control the civilian side of the realm.

Tianren sect
the sect is one of the major sects in Tianlan homeland (Juexin, Yin, and Feng are among them) the previous leader was assassinated by the Hui sect during a discussion conference, together with the leaders of all the other participating sects, in an effort to bolster their sect leader demonic cultivation ( the Hui sect was famous for pursuing ghostly cultivation). The new sect leader of Tianren valiantly funded the war campaign against a now common enemy and personally appeared on the last battlefield to kill the Hui sect leader. The new chief cultivator, in his endless wisdom (greed), saw Tianlan as a threat (opportunity) to the recovering cultivation world and ordered her imprisonment; wishing both for her mind and her cultivation abilities, to be used for righteousness (himself).
