Anitus Or Treekins

Anitus also known as Treekins are constructs made by a wood-elven arborist to protect magical forests, the body is shaped using the wood-elven tree shaping magic on a still-growing tree. Once the body is fully grown a soul is grafted onto the body, the soul usually comes from a recently departed or sometimes from a stillborn child, the new Anitu does not retain the memory of their previous life and is generally considered a new individual. Anitus live mostly solitary lives guarding the forests against intruders, sometimes they live in small groups of their kin. Anitus are usually between 2 and 6 meters tall, with lean bodies indistinguishable from a common tree while they are not moving, they have a humanoid, usually elven, face carved on their body. Being plants means they do not require food and can survive longer than most other creatures without air, like all other plants they use photosynthesis to sustain themselves, they can move in the day while collecting sunlight but need to root themselves down on rich soil every night to absorb the nutrient as well as water from the ground. They usually only know the Anitu language and elvish but they can speak other languages if learned, they speak by moving air into a series of chambers in their face mask, producing notes and sounds, this process is known as wind speaking and can produce sounds recognizable as words of other languages but it's very slow to do so, the Anitu language is optimized for wind speakers and so its faster for anitus to speak, though other races may find it difficult to reproduce without the aid of an instrument such as a flute.  Anitus bodies are tough and resistant to physical damage coming from nonmagical sources, though they are quite flammable. Anitus can also regrow body parts quite easily if enough time passes.
