Marble Trade Item

If the Aristocrats of Portland knew of a location to find and quarry marble it would be under construction now but alas the location has been lost to time.
Marble in the City of Portland is relatively priceless as only a handful of marble pieces exist. In Sandway their is the Great Marble home of Herinton but where that marble came from has been lost to time. In fact several pieces of that building have been cut out and replaced by other stone and sold off to Portland.
One such pieces was auctioned off in the year 4011 and it was valued at an entire Galleon 37000gp.
The desk that was crafted out of that marble slab resides in The palace of Portland. The offices of Shipping and Export building.
Sages and Historians have searched many a book in an effort to lead to some clues for such a valuable commodity. unfortunately no historical text of the sort exist. Those that have extrapolated that an answer may be found in Sandway. Extensive study of the Great Marble home of Herinton, reveals that the building itself predates even the lineage of Herinton.
Two theory exist on the construction of the Great Marble Home of Herinton one witch believes that this was once a giant marble stone found log ago and simply worked into the shape that it is in now. The other such theory is that the stones were brought here from civilizations long lost to what historians refer to as The Great Drought.
If the stones were brought to Sandway Sages who have studied this matter suggest the Marble may be found within The Great Savannah of Minaphili although any explorers sent to investigate did not return or returned with no information regarding the location of such marble.
