The March of Kings Extended
Refer to the timeline for the beginning
The March of Kings only evolves from here, as the second Worldly Monarch makes his stand. Klaus Iammaroth was a dwarf of large stature. Compared to his fellow dwarves, he was broad-shouldered and tall, like a Goliath among Humans. Living within the Ostunium Valley in a small village named Hamdur, Klaus lived as a blacksmith, creating tools for the miners. He dreamed big, of creating legendary weapons that one day heroes would wield, and armor that not even a dragon's mighty breath weapon could destroy. When news of the March of the Godless King arrived in the Ostuniam Valley, Klaus was enamored with the concept of heroism and greatness that Nortyx achieved. So, he picked up his hammer and a sword he named Beldisvir, and he ventured up the mountains. At this age, the mountain at the peak of the Kelruhm Range was called the Peak of Kings, for in the tale of the creation of Kelruhm, the God Chiros placed his forging hammer atop the mountain, and any dwarf who climbed it could grasp the hammer and use it to become the king of Kelruhm. Klaus ventured to the city of Kimelduhr, where he met a monk named Castor Greyfus. Castor was a monk who lived in the mountains for some time, at a monastery dedicated to the God of Night, Nokk. Klaus requested that Castor guide him up the mountain, so that he may claim the King’s Hammer for himself. Castor intrigued, agreed to take him up as long as once Klaus was the king he would donate supplies to the monastery. Klaus and Castor ventured up the hardened, sheer mountains and braved through the elements when they finally reached the monastery. Here, according to legend is where Klaus had a vision, that he would be betrayed upon the peak, by two twin brothers, someone who he believed to be close to him, but perhaps, overlooked. Klaus shrugged the notions off and stayed with the monks for some time before pushing onwards, towards the peak. He reached the place that would now, in modern days, be called Daghduar. The place was perfect, a large valley buried within the mountains, waterfalls ran down each side, and hot springs sprouted up from the caves. Klaus built a home here and pushed into the cave systems to explore. Here is where Klaus met the dragon Rimecrest, a white dragon wyrmling. Klaus spoke with Rimecrest, and Rimecrest asked why he was unafraid. Klaus stated that he could never be afraid of someone who has not explored the world, for as long as he knew more than they, he would never be afraid. Rimecrest left Klaus and continued to grow within these caves. He was not a peaceful dragon, but he understood that it was a great folly to challenge the humanoid species of the world, for their ambition was unrivaled, a lesson his father taught him. Klaus inevitably arrived at the peak of the mountain and discovered a small temple. The temple had only one resident, an old woman with no name, but a title, as the Maiden of the Forge. Klaus spoke with her and she tasked him with a challenge. In order to claim the Hammer of Kings, he must gain the favor of the people, for a King cannot rule without the favor of those beneath him. Klaus was not frustrated, but instead hopeful. His ambition was finally confirmed, he would accomplish his goals, and become the hero he always dreamed of. So, he ventured back down the mountain. He spoke with Castor and they went down the mountain together. Castor and Klaus used the recent news of Nortyx to light a fire underneath the dwarven people. A fire of hope, allegiance, and a fire of brotherhood. They heard Klaus’ call and one by one, he gained follower after follower, people who wanted to see a new dynasty thrive within Kelruhm, in order to show the people of the world the Might of the dwarven empire. And so Klaus returned to the mountain peak, and the shrine maiden told him to step into the forge. He stepped into the fire of the temple and emerged clad in golden armor, with runic sigils inscribed into every surface. His sword Beldisvir became magical and was now the legendary blade of the forge. He clasped his hammer, and atop the mountain, in the Forge of Kings, he crafted a crown, the crown of Iammaroth, that could be split into two pieces. One half was called Ostunium, and the other was named Gaddeover. Klaus Iammaroth called upon his brethren from the twin valleys of Kelruhm, and they gathered at the peak. The peak of Iammaroth.
Celia, of all places, was full of despair after the war. It was always a land of farming, and now, it was scorched, and the fields were barren. So in the wake of the war, there was only crime, and thievery, as everyone fought to survive. A woman named Nadia Kovirjia had an idea, now that everyone is a fighter, we can use that to our advantage. And so, she searched for fighters around Celia and banded them together, as a group called the Band of Fortune. The Band of Fortune quickly gained a massively negative reputation for its ruthlessness, but also a reputation of wealth, and success, which inspired others to do the same. And so, a society formed, groups of criminals and warriors, all fighting for notoriety and wealth. Nadia grew tired of other bands trying to vie for supremacy, so she formulated a new plan, to make them work for her. Now that people had some semblance of money, they could spend it on very few things, and so she created a new way to spend money, fighting entertainment. She created a tournament, The King of the Plains. All of the warriors, thieves, and scoundrels in Celia gathered at this tournament to make money and be famous. Nadia and the Band of Fortune raked in cash, and the city around the tournament began to recover due to its excellent economy, so the capital city of Celia was born as Fallholt, although, back then it was named Fortune City. The first King of the Plains tournament took off and it gathered a massive audience. The arena was built with large stone pillars and then wooden spikes in between. It would slowly improve and become a full-on colosseum, but not yet. The first rounds were quick, usually a good fighter versus someone who was desperate for money or overestimated themselves. You didn't have to kill the other opponent, just incapacitate, however, it was not uncommon for participants to be killed. At round 21, there was the fight that really got people hooked. A scrawny kid wearing desert garb using the call tag Thorn fought against a barbarian Goliath from the mountains of Kogeki using the call tag Iron-Jaw. The bets came flooding in, 85 percent for Iron-Jaw, 15 for Thorn. Iron-Jaw started the fight before the hostel blew and swung his hammer down, but Thorn dodged. The crowd went wild watching Thorn dodge and weave, leaving small cuts along Iron-Jaw, but he seemed unphased, until 5 minutes into the fight, he dropped dead from poison. Thorn ripped off his artificial jaw and held it up above his head. He was the first man to receive a by, a pass to the finals. I don't believe it is necessary to describe the rest of the fights, and so the first-ever King of The Plains tournament winner was decided and it was Thorn. He became the first Monarch of Celia, and his first move was to rally like-minded individuals. He rounded up able fighters, pushing for reform. He sought after a place where those who couldn't fight wouldn't have to. And so, The peaceful Celia we know today was born, under the wing of the first Pacifist King, Thorn (No Surname).
Within the Spirit Capital of the World, Kogeki, there sat a young boy named Akira Fukumoto. He was fishing by the river when two kappas approached him. The townsfolk were often scared, or stressed by the kappa, but he understood them. He greeted them, and they greeted him. He spoke with them and they told him that the fish were bad today, so he packed up and went fishing at the lake instead. At the lake, he saw a Komainu and greeted it. The lion dog bowed its head, and Akira petted him in return. The Komainu told him, that the fish at the lake were skittish today, so he should fish by the coast instead, and so he did. Once he arrived at the lake, he saw an Umibozo. He greeted the Umibozo and he was greeted back in return. The Umibozo scooped up a group of fish and handed them to him. Akira accepted and returned home to give his family the bounty. His family questioned how he could get so much fish, but were unable to believe that an evil spirit such as the Umibozo would be so kind. So the town elder went to the sea and told the Umibozo to stay away, and so he did. But that night, a storm came upon the town, a torrential downpour, washing away houses and the like. Akira ran to the lake and asked the Komainu for help, and so the Lion dog helped him save his family. Astonished by the boy's ability to communicate with the spirits, they apologized, and Akira would be raised as a normal child. When he grew older, however, people sought his ability and began to beg him for help. He helped all those he could, exorcising spirits and asking kappa to kindly leave civilians alone. He helped many and gained a reputation as the Shaman, and yet he was never rewarded. He never wanted rewards, he just wanted them to be happy. But he was so tired, so he took a break. That night, while Akira slept, the townsfolk were enraged that he was not there to help, so they stormed his home and demanded answers. The Komainu guarded his door, and so they killed it. Akira opened the door to the scene and vowed to never allow another human to harm an innocent spirit. This is the tale of the Spirit Speaker, and it is one made for children, to be wary of the mistreatment of others, including yokai. However, there is some truth to this story. As Akira Fukumoto is a real man, and he truly was able to speak with the spirits. He was the first ever Shaman to be born after the war, and truly he was a blessing sent from the heavens. Using his ability, he united the people and the yokai, creating the current-day society of Kogeki, one where spirits can live in tandem with people.
