Cipanguan War of Liberation

Peace in Cipangu had always been fragile. Smaller border skirmishes were a regular occurence. The most contentious issues were the safety of missionaries and the rights and autonomy of cipanguan states.   The exact reasons for this war are unknown. The Spanish Empire saw an immediate threat to its missionary work in Cipangu after several occurences of violence against them on the territory of Managi, while the people of Managi saw it as an immediate threat to their autonomy. On the other hand, had all Cipanguan states been arming themself for decades in anticipation of the eventual conflict. This escalated in 1682 when a spanish force crossed the border of Managi. They were quickly expelled and a much larger force began to lay siege to Toledo. The war ended victorious for the Cipanguans, with the state of Managi doubling their territory.
