Cipangu
Northern Subcontinent of Mu
Geography
Cipangu is the northern part of Mu. In the north it is connected to the Eurasian continent by a chain of the Menergi Islands, similar in nature and origin to the Kuril and Aleut islands. One of the most important features is the Shurqhan mountain chain, which goes trough the continent, extending into the large Tukturshta plateau at its centre. The mountains divide Cipangu internally into four parts, the northern temperate region of Ebir , the subtropical and tropical regions of Kaluna and Nueva Tlaxcalla in the east, dense jungles in the southwest and an arid plateau at its centre.
Fauna & Flora
The flora of Cipangu is close, yet different from the eurasian flora in eastern Asia. The animals which inhabit it resemble stranger version of their eurasian relatives however.
Elephant like animals, which represent the last of the mammoths, made their way into Cipangu and diversified into a large group of herbivores of different sizes. Most of them are smaller than their megafaunal ancestors, as the Pacific Elephants who arrived on Cipangu did so via the island chain in the north and where subject to island dwarvism.
Another large group of herbivores are Cervines, close to the reindeers of Siberia they made their way into Cipangu and thrived in the forests of the pacific continent. Others have made their way onto the plateau.
The largest group of predators are ursines, which have in the absence of canines and felines filled their respective niches, becoming swift and agile pack hunters. One group however became a mirror image to the asian giant panda and evolved into herbivores.
