Spanish conquest of Cipangu

Immediately after discovering Cipangu the spanish laid claim for it. The foundation of Nueva-Tlaxcalla in 1531 was among the first steps. While the south quickly fell under spanish controll, the north of Cipangu, the lands of Ebir resisted. This resistance resulted in a fierce stalemate during the 1540s, in which an alliance of northern states, lead by Zhughali fought back the spanish. The war finally ended in 1564 whith a joined peace treaty between the Spanish and the Cipanguans. The people of Cipangu recognised the city of Toledo del Occidente as spanish territory, while Spain recognised the full autony of several cipanguan states, while giving partial autonomy to several others. These states were seen as spanish vassals under the Viceroyalty of Cipangu. Within their territory no harm was to come to christian missionaries.
