European discovery of the northern part of Mu
When Ferdinand Magellan discovered Mu in 1521 the spanish conquest of Mexico was in full swing and the exploration of Mu was left for another day. Yet the spanish soon began to explore the western coast of the Americas. The northern part of Mu wasn't discovered until 1529, when a small spanish expedition sailed west and landed on Cipangu. Believing they had arrived in Japan, they gave the new landmass the name Cipangu and claimed it for the Spanish Crown.
