The Great Kaleidoscope

"The GK? Yeah, I remember that. 's what inspired me to make this team in the first place. They found me after I died, made me a bug-person, then taught me how to fight. They help a lot more people that we do, but... I dunno. There's no soul in what they do (which is ironic, cause we're literally made from souls), at least for me.   ~ Zoë Gagliardi

Structure

The GK has twelve ranks - ten normal ranks (1 - 10), and two special ranks (General and Infini). Ranks 1 - 10 are experience and merit-based. An Almiposa starts at rank 1, then when they finish training they become rank 2. From then on, if a General or Infini finds that they have completed a certain amount of missions or they have completed a certain mission exceptionally, they can increase their rank. Higher ranked Almiposas are sent to more difficult missions. You can tell what rank an Almiposa is based on the badge on their shirt collar - rank 1 is a dot, rank 2 is a line, rank 3 is a triangle, rank 4 is a square, and so on until rank 10, which is a five-pointed star.   Generals oversee large groups of Almiposas, train rank 1 Almiposas, and sometimes distribute missions. An Almiposa has to apply to be a General; they also have to have been rank 10 for two years. Generals have two five-pointed stars on their shirt collar.   The five Infini are at the very top of the Kaleidoscope. They dictate the general actions of the GK, decide which planets to contact, and distribute most of the missions. Infini work for life, and when an Infini dies, there is a lengthy process of deciding another one. Infini have infinity symbols on their collars, and also wear half-capes.

Anyone who has violated the GK's many rules or failed too many missions is "discharged," where the Almiposa in question is executed. They justify this by saying that everyone in the GK has died already, and the discharged just weren't worthy of this second chance. However, a small rebel group called The Eclipse has started to help these Almiposa escape their second death and hide from the GK.

Golds and Silvers

There's also another category Almiposas are sorted by other than rank. An Almiposa who had supernatural powers (such as telekinesis or future sight, but not magic since every Almiposa can use magic) as a human is called a Gold Almiposa, while an Almiposa who did not is called a Silver Almiposa.   There isn't an explicit bias for either category, but Golds tend to rank up faster.

Public Agenda

The GK's primary objective is to neutralize IMPs across the multiverse, however, if a planet is in dire crisis, they will step in and help there as well. They are usually the first aliens that a planet comes in contact with.   If the planet they are contacting is inhabited by humans, they make it a priority not to reveal that they used to be humans themselves, as that would complicate things considerably.

Technological Level

The GK borrows ideas from the various civilizations they have interacted with, leading to a wildly advanced technological state. Most of the tech they have is powered by the Almiposan users' souls themselves. An added benefit of being powered by the user's soul is that the tech will fail to function if used by a non-Almiposa, so security is not much of an issue.
