Tiefling

Tieflings are a fiend-touched species of Morn. Their homeland is Bal-Marr in Nilandra. Tieflings are the result of the people around Bal-Marr being affected by the influence of fiends when the Blood War spilled into Morn from Avernus. The people of the region, mostly humans, developed fiendish traits such as different colours of skin, horns and spiked tails. Tieflings in Bal-Marr worship their two demigod rulers Khal and Surk, who are said to have banished the fiends back to Avernus and taken care of the Tiefling race when the creator gods turned their backs on them. Bal-Marr is ruled as a strict theocracy with worship of any gods other than Khal and Surk outlawed.
Residents of Bal-Marr are not permitted to leave the territory without permission from their temple, meaning Tieflings in other parts of the world are a rare occurrence. Tieflings who travel beyond Bal-Marr are frequently regarded with fear and suspicion due to their fiendish appearance.
