Frontier: Session 41
General Summary
Session 41: 2026-07-12
The party gets attacked by three strange ghostly figures. They see other ghosts floating aimlessly in the distance amongst the ruined buildings, but they don't seem to react. Jock is hit by a strange stream of cracks in reality that transport him to the Feywild, Hiron is blasted by Necrotic energy, and Suicu is shunted to the Shadowfell. They rally against these ghosts, giving them an arcane beating while Hiron tosses his gummies around to protect from the Necrotic effects and to boost Suicu's speed with drugs.
A beam of strange silvery light hits the ghosts, and they erupt in flames of purple, black, and red. Suddenly, they attack more visciously with strange powers. One of them rises after it's destroyed, and another uses its own body to hurl Hiron into a strange Maze dimension. They managed to gain the upper hand and destroy these creatures.
After the battle, Suicu flies in Raven form to the tower in the distance and sees that the silvery light is coming from inside the building. There are several balconies on the structure, and a set of large bronze doors are at the entrance. He notices that the ghosts don't seem to approach the structure.
He goes back to the others, and they make a plan to scale the other buildings and teleport onto the structure to go inside. On top of the building, Suicu notices that the silver light is magical and appears to be the same unknown school of magic he saw at Crystal Palace. They teleport to the doorway, push the doors open, and, in the silver light, see, in black and white, a huge pile of bodies. The bodies appear to be those of regular townsfolk and don't show any marks. Jock rushes up the stairs to the mezzanine and finds a strange door in the middle, while the others follow him up.
Pushing open the doors reveals a small room with a panel with some buttons on it. The buttons seem to be an archaic version of numbers, and they hit number eight. Immediately, they blast off into the sky and fly vast to the east coast. They arrive at a strange tower that tapers to a needlepoint far up into the sky.
Inside the building is a room with no doors or windows, but it's nicely decorated with sofas, chairs, a table, some cupboards, a bowl of fruit, and refreshments. Everything is clean and well maintained. They go off to explore the other numbers in the lift.
They experiment and leave Hiron at number 2 while he tries the doors to see if he can call the lift to come back somehow. Someone behind him says:"Dear sir, I've been sent by the master to collect you."
