Elara Raethan
Free Captain (a.k.a. Ironflask)
A half Elven ship captain working as a mercenary with her own ship. She was hired by a knight of the court to fight pirates in the western ocean.
Some heroes fresh from the Academy have been sent to assist with the mission.
Personal History
Elara was born to a half-elven mother and never met her father, a human sailor from the south. She grew up on the docks of Theras City, learning to sail before she could even walk. She joined the Royal Navy as a teenager and rose through the ranks thanks to her keen tactical mind and fearless approach to combat. It was her talent for hunting pirates that earned her the command of the frigate The Dawn's Wrath and a reputation as one of the kingdom's most feared and respected captains.
But Elara’s greatest enemy was never the pirates; it was alcohol. Her alcoholism worsened after she was left with physical and emotional scars following a brutal battle. When war broke out and the navy abandoned her ship, deeming her 'unreliable', she was left to rot in a backwater port until she decided to take matters into her own hands.
Now, she sails as a pirate hunter for hire, working for merchants, nobles, and even the occasional royal patron--anyone who can pay in gold or rum.
