Dragonslayer Behemoth

A towering, brass-and-iron behemoth, its frame a lattice of reinforced girders and hissing pneumatic pipes. The mech’s silhouette is angular and predatory, designed to mimic the wingspan of a dragon in flight—its shoulders jutting like a hunter’s blades, and its harpoon launcher coiled like a serpent’s strike.

Components

  • Primary Hull: Riveted iron plates, etched with alchemical runes that glow faintly when the mech’s magical systems activate.
  • Legs: Hydraulic pistons allow for surprising agility, letting it dodge dragonfire or leap onto ruins for elevation.
  • Arms:
      • Right Arm: A rotating cannon battery, each barrel loaded with dragon-bane shells (explosive, armor-piercing, or alchemically toxic).
      • Left Arm: A harpoon launcher, its cable reinforced with dwarven steel and tipped with a barbed, electrified hook.
  • Back Mount: A swiveling anti-air turret, operated by the gunner, spits incendiary or lightning-charged rounds to harass dragons mid-dive.
  • Cockpit: A glass-and-brass dome at the chest, revealing the frantic activity of the inventor crew. Inside, steam-powered monitors, levers, and arcane dials track dragon vitals, wind patterns, and ammunition levels.

  •

    Power Source

A hybrid engine—part steam boiler, part crystal-core reactor—humming with unstable energy. The alchemist must constantly adjust the mixture of coal, mana-infused water, and dragon blood residue to prevent overload.

    Weaknesses

  • Overheating: Prolonged use risks boiler explosions or magical feedback.
  • Team Coordination: If the inventors argue or hesitate, the mech stutters or misfires.
  • Dragon Cunning: Ancient dragons recognize the mech’s predictable attack patterns and exploit them.

  •

    Signature Move

"Harbinger’s Gambit": The mech feigns vulnerability, luring a dragon into a dive—only for the harpoon to snag its wing, the cannons to unload into its chest, and the turret to electrify the cable, dragging the beast crashing to earth.

    Atmosphere

The mech doesn’t just *fight* dragons—it hunts them. Its presence on the battlefield is a declaration of war against the skies, a middle finger to the ancient terrors that once ruled unchallenged. When it strides into view, steam vents hissing, runed cannons whirring, even allies take a step back.
