Alea Ildroun
Alea grew up in a small village as the only child of an elven healer. She always felt different and couldn’t easily connect with others, though she didn’t understand why. She found solace in her music, which she felt was the only place she could be her full self. When she was a teenager, after an argument with her mother, the truth was revealed: Alea was a half-elf. Her father had been a human adventurer, whom her mother met during a stay in a nearby town. The village would not have accepted him, so her mother had kept Alea’s heritage a secret to protect her. That reveal put a major strain on her relationship with her mother, and she felt betrayed, but she was young and afraid, so she stayed and kept her human identity hidden.
Alea trained as a healer and served her community for a time, but the secrecy and feeling of being different made her realize she could not stay in a place where part of herself had to be hidden. She left the village to travel as a bard, following her love of music, her curiosity, and the hope of finding her father one day. After her departure, her mother also left, hoping to find her, though neither knows where the other is now. Alea journeys onward, seeking both family and a place where she can truly belong.
