Equipment
- Claws and Fangs (dual hand weapons)
- +1 Attack (total of 2 attacks)
- Cannot parry
- No armor
Special Rules
Undead
- Immune to psychology, poison, and All Alone
- Causes Fear
Scavenger Instinct
- At the start of its turn, if a corpse or stunned model is within 8", the Ghoul will move toward it rather than choosing a target.
- If engaged in combat, it will defend itself normally.
Carrion Frenzy
- If the Ghoul ends its turn within 1" of a corpse or stunned model and is not in combat, roll a D6:
- On a 4+, it enters a feeding frenzy, gaining +1 Initiative and +1 Attack on its next turn only (temporary boost).
- It does not regain Wounds—just becomes more aggressive for a moment.
Ferocity of the Starved
- If the Ghoul is reduced to 0 Wounds but was under the effect of Carrion Frenzy, roll a D6:
- On a 6, it collapses but does not die—place it Knocked Down instead of removing it. It may recover as normal next Recovery Phase.
- Can only trigger this once per game.
No Thought, Only Teeth
- Ghouls cannot climb, use ladders, or take cover.
- Always moves in a straight line toward the nearest living or fresh corpse model.
- Will not avoid hazards unless already engaged in combat.
Behavior (AI Table – Optional)
D6 | Behavior |
---|---|
1–2 | Shambles toward the nearest corpse or stunned model. |
3–4 | Charges the nearest living model within 6". |
5 | Scrambles over rubble or debris to engage; counts as a charge. |
6 | Emits a horrific shriek—no game effect unless scenario specifies swarm mechanics. |
Encounter Hooks
- May spawn in cemeteries, catacombs, The Pit, or post-battle locations.
- Often appears mid-scenario after a warband suffers a casualty.
- When encountered in groups, their erratic, corpse-drawn movement can disrupt both players’ plans.
- A Necromancer, Vampire, or dark ritual may summon them intentionally to sow chaos.
