Wolf Whelp Pack 387

Kip Rumpledream, the Halfling Wolf Pack Scouts leader for Wolf Whelp Pack 387, arrives at the League Guildhall asking for the party's help. Apparently the kobolds fleeing from the attack on the guildhall came across Kip's pack of junior halfling scouts who were on their first overnight camping expedition in preparation for the jamboree that was planned. As the kobolds approached, the kids, all of whom were about 8 to 9 years old, followed the credo of the Wolf Pack Scouts when it came to encountering creatures in the wild:   "If the bear is brown, lay down. If the bear is black, fight back. If you see a wolf pack, make yourself big but don’t attack. If there is a wolverine, stand your ground but don’t make a scene. If it is a badger, don’t worry he’s afraid of your stature. But if it's a monster looking for a battle, don’t stay to fight, quickly skedaddle."   A total of eight halflings in his care scattered from the kobolds, but were quickly snatched up. Half of the halflings were taken to the Kobold lair in Boora Bog, while the other half were taken by a group of Northlander lycanthropes.   The party stepped in to help. As they approached the Burnfist Clan kobold lair, they saw that Wolf Pack smoke signals were being sent out from it warning of danger. The party approached and spoke to the kobolds, threatening them to release the halflings.   However, the kobolds had already come to appreciate the halfling scouts who were applying first aid to the kobolds, teaching them about what plants were edible and which were not, and how to clean and cook their food. Ultimately, the halfling children were released after the party, led by Ilbryen, offered to teach the kobolds life skills of their own at the League Hall. Upon collecting the children, they discovered that Garpher, the scout that was attending the fire and sending out smoke signals, had poisoned the kobolds' food and was planning on trying to escape during the night.   The children immediately started to ask Kip if the different actions that they did in the kobold lair earned them any badges.   The party then headed off to track the lycanthropes and the rest of the halfling children, finding them and discovering that they were wereboars. The party fought them and slew them, freeing the remaining halfling kids. They also discovered that the wereboars were members of the Blood Tribes of Llywelyn, which put them far away from their territory.   With all of the children returned, Kip thanked the party and invited them to the Wolf Pack Scout jamboree, though they passed on the invitation for more pressing matters. However, the Wolf Pack Scouts became indebted to the League by their actions and continued to visit the league as little scouting field trips to learn about adventuring.
