The Wolfhound

The Wolfhound is a formidable Northlander longship captained by the stalwart Spuit Ljotsson. Known for its power and endurance, the ship is constructed with a robust, dark timber that gives it a menacing silhouette against the gray waters. Along its hull, intricate carvings of wolves in mid-hunt run the length of the ship, their forms intertwined with patterns of knotwork that evoke both the strength and loyalty of the beast it is named after. The prow features a snarling wolf's head, carved from a single piece of wood, with eyes that seem to glint with a fierce determination.   Equipped with a broad, red-striped sail and sturdy oars, the Wolfhound is built for both speed and stability, allowing it to ride out fierce storms and navigate treacherous waters with ease. The ship is manned by a devoted crew, handpicked by Spuit for their strength, resilience, and unwavering loyalty. Known as “the Wolfpack,” these warriors are united not just by loyalty to Spuit, but by a shared code of honor and brotherhood that binds them as tightly as kin. Many of them wear wolf pelts and carry axes adorned with charms that represent their loyalty to the pack and their fierce pride in their ship.   The Wolfhound carries a reputation as a hunter of the seas, much like its namesake. Spuit is a master of pursuit, known to track down his prey over great distances, using his knowledge of the waters and his relentless spirit to his advantage. He’s earned respect not only from his crew but also from his rivals, who know that when the Wolfhound is on the hunt, there is little chance of escape.   Onboard, the ship is stocked with ample provisions and a well-maintained armory, including spears, axes, and bows, all essential for the raids and skirmishes that Spuit and his crew undertake. The Wolfhound is also known to carry a variety of hunting trophies and totems collected from lands they have raided, each one a reminder of past victories and conquests. To Spuit and his crew, the Wolfhound is more than just a ship—it is their home, their weapon, and their symbol, embodying the strength and relentless pursuit of the wolves they so admire.
