Strangler

Stranglers are created by the ArchFey Acacia. As her growing kudzu vines overtook towns and strangled the life from them, she used her vines to animate the corpses of the dead. They did not have a mind of their own, instead being fully controlled by the persasive vines that had entered and taken over their corpses. Through these stranglers, Acacia could see and hear, as well as speak.

Undead Fortitude. If damage reduces the Strangler to 0 hit points, it must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC of 5+the damage taken, unless the damage is fire or from a critical hit. On a success, the Strangler drops to 1 hit point instead.   False Appearance. While the Strangler remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from normal, but overgrown plantlife.   Unusual Nature. The Strangler doesn't require sleep.   Regeneration. The Strangler regains 5 hit points at the start of its turn, if it is in contact with the ground. If the strangler takes fire damage, this trait doesn't function until the start of the Strangler's next turn. The Strangler dies only if it starts its turn with 0 hit points and doesn't regenerate. If the kudzu vine that is attached to the Strangler is severed, the Stranger does not regenerate anymore.

Actions

Multiattack. The Strangler may make one vine lash and one fist attack.   Vine Lash. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 20 ft., one target, Hit 11 (2d6+4) slashing damage. If the target is a creature, it is grabbled (escape Acrobatics or Athletics DC 15). Until the grapple ends, the target is restrained/ The Strangler has one vine and can grapple one person at a time.   Fist. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target, Hit: 10 (4d4) bludgeoning damage.
