Serpent's Spittle
The Serpent's Spittle is a fearsome Northlander longship captained by Harek Jurundson, known for his cunning and ruthlessness on the high seas. The ship is long and narrow, with a sleek design that allows it to cut through waves like a serpent through grass. Its hull is crafted from weathered pine and painted a deep, mottled green, giving it an almost camouflaged appearance on the water. Along the sides, the shields of Harek’s warriors hang, each painted with a venomous serpent motif to intimidate any who might dare cross their path.
The ship’s single sail bears a coiled serpent emblazoned in black against a sea-green backdrop, a personal symbol of Harek and a warning to those who see it on the horizon. The Serpent's Spittle is as fast as it is menacing, with rows of strong oars that can be manned by its experienced and battle-hardened crew. These Northlanders are well-trained and fiercely loyal to Harek, drawn to his ambition and reputation as a master strategist and ruthless warrior.
In addition to its formidable crew, the Serpent's Spittle carries a variety of weapons for both naval and land combat, including harpoons, boarding axes, and heavy javelins. Harek, who favors swift and deadly strikes, often uses the ship’s speed to his advantage, ambushing other vessels with the precision and suddenness of a snake’s bite. The ship is also equipped with provisions for long journeys, allowing Harek and his men to pursue targets far from home and remain at sea for extended periods.
Harek keeps his "good luck piece", Alma, aboard the ship as well. She does not have the full liberty as any of the other crew, however.
