Rattle-Shards is a tormented reflection of a Human, forever trapped within the fractured mirrors of the Court of Shattered Mirrors. His gaunt, pale face is contorted in perpetual terror, his wide, panic-stricken eyes darting behind him as though pursued by something unseen and unspeakable. His hands, bloodied and raw, pound desperately against the glass, causing the mirror to rattle and shake as if it might shatter further beneath the force of his frantic blows. Each strike reverberates through the glass, sending jagged cracks crawling outward, yet no matter how hard he pounds, he never breaks free.
To the Fractured Princess, Rattle-Shards is a source of endless amusement. She watches him with childlike glee, her laughter ringing through the hall of mirrors as though he were performing a comedic pantomime. His terror, his desperation— all of it seems to her like a delightful game, a show put on for her amusement. While he fights to escape an unseen horror, she claps her hands and giggles, blissfully detached from the nightmare unfolding within the glass.
