Lineage of Responsibility
Daihl MacGregor, first met by the party at the ill-fated D'arlington wedding, had asked the party to escort himself and his daughter, Dhowgok MacGregor, to the village of Bar Rorkred, the birthplace of her mother, Bronna MacGregor.
Dhowgok is a Half-Orc and has been showing signs of barbarian-like rage and Daihl, who had been raising Dhowgok as a single father, realized that as a Human, he did not know enough of Dhowgok's Orc half of her heritage to help her and guide her through that part of her life.
The party escorted them to the orc village of Bar Torkred, where they found the orcs of the village to be almost completely female and were looking to mate with any of the sailors who came to shore. Dhowgok was led to meet her aunts, Anime, Arati, and Tumizar who ruled the village.
Illevaere met wood elves from their home village in Winterglen who were trading with the orcs and discovered more about the village.
Centuries ago, the Formorian warrior god, Balor of the Evil Eye, wreaked havoc on the lands with little ability to slow his reign of destruction. Balor, however, was fated to be defeated by one of his own blood, so he immediately locked up his daughter so she would not bear a child. An orc, however, found her tower and courted her, stealing her away from Balor. Together they had three sons. Balor discovered this and drowned the sons, though one survived. Raised by the orcs, he was able to fight Balor and drive him back into The Feywild.
Since that time, the orcs have guarded the entrance to the Feywild, fighting any Formorians who enter, waiting for Balor's return. The orcs have continued the bloodline destined to slay Balor, but over generations of inbreeding, those of the strongest blood have been infertile. So now, men and women who cannot bear children go to fight the formorians, while those who can bear children do so to continue the bloodline.
Bronna, Anime, Arati, and Tumizar are sisters who have the strongest blood ties fated to slay Balor, though each was thought to be infertile. But Bronna fled the village, wanting her own fate, found Daihl and fell in love. She bore Dhowgok, the next generation of the strongest bloodline.
It was the desire of Arati and the others to keep Dhowgok back and use her for breeding to keep the bloodline strong. However, after the party and Daihl discovered this, they planned to take her away so she did not have to suffer the fate that her mother fled from. Though prepared to take her by force if necessary, Daihl made an impassioned plea that ended up convincing the orcs to let her go--at least for now, and Dhowgok and Daihl left with the party.
