Golden Apple

Wondrous item, uncommon   The golden apple appears as a large, flawless apple with a warm golden skin. It smells of apples and harvest.   The Golden Apple does not rot until a bite is taken from it. Once a bite has been taken from the apple, the apple will rot within 3 days. The apple is large enough to consist of six full bites. A single bite of the apple grants the following immediate effects:   The biter is immediately affected by both the Heal spell and Greater Restoration. The bite from the apple sustains the eater and they no longer require food or drink for one year and a day from the time the bite was consumed. The person who consumed a bite also does not age naturally for one year and a day. Any saving throws to resist magical aging (such as by a ghost) are made at advantage during the year and a day.   Any non-fey who takes a bite of the Golden Apple may never again set foot upon the mortal realm. This is not a curse, but rather a faerie taboo, meaning that remove curse will not remove it.

Significance

The Golden Apple was a prize awarded by Grainmother Sheafheart of the Court of Golden Fields during the Harvest Feast at the Fortnight Festival held by the Court of Leaves and Whispers. The apple was awarded to Aisling Hawthorne for her toast celebrating the gathered courts.
