Cobb

Herald of Chaos and Bearer of the King’s Sacred Proclamation Cobb

Cobb, Herald of Chaos and Bearer of the King’s Sacred Proclamation, is a name spoken with awe and admiration in goblin circles—and with carefully concealed dread in the more polished halls of the Fey Courts. His rise from the tumultuous gutters of goblin society to the most esteemed (and noisiest) role in the Goblin King’s retinue is a tale etched in song as well as painted in questionable graffiti.   Born in a collapsed wine barrel in the alley behind one of the Goblin Court’s most famous alehouses, Cobb's entry into the world was during the Second Great Goblin Uprising. From an early age, he displayed a rare and dangerous quality in goblin culture: ambition, paired with an instinctive flair for the theatrical.   His destiny changed forever during the Festival of Biting Things, when the Goblin King—seeking a new herald after the last one died from work-related decapitation—hosted a shouting contest to fill the role. Cobb strode onto the platform and let out a proclamation so deafening, so grammatically dubious, and so spiritually chaotic that Cobb was anointed on the spot.   As Herald of Chaos, Cobb is more than a ceremonial announcer. He is the voice of the Goblin King, the mouthpiece of madness, and the orchestrator of goblin statecraft—which is to say, he ensures every royal decree is delivered with sufficient volume and flair. His presence at diplomatic events signals not only the Goblin King’s arrival, but also the certainty that something unforgettable is about to occur. Cobb is revered within the Goblin Court for his loyalty, cleverness, and the way he dresses, which is rather nicely.   To outsiders, Cobb may appear as a just a goblin. But within the Goblin Court, he is something more sacred: the embodiment of chaos made articulate. Where other courts value order and legacy, the goblins know that truth is found in disorder, and that chaos must be proclaimed with style. Cobb is their voice, their standard-bearer, and their living legend.   While announcing the Goblin King at the Fortnight Festival in the Court of Leaves and Whispers, Cobb had trouble reading some of the words on the King's arrival proclamation and asked Ilbryen to read the scroll from him where they announced themself as Cobb.   Cobb is tall for a goblin and has white hair now.
