Shrouding - a technique where the user expands an energy field out from their bodies as a thin layer of offense and defense, helping to minimize damage from physical or magical attacks, and serving as a way to collect and shunt magical energies for more ready and accessible use. Early users of shrouding concentrate magic into a limb or artifact used for channeling/focusing magic, collecting magic into that area to power the spell being cast. With a full-body shroud, any portion of the body can be used to channel a magic ability or spell, inwardly (defensively) or outwardly (offensively). The more proficient a use of the shroud technique, the easier it is for a user to wield magic and to safely use magic with less risk of "magical radiation poisoning).
