Shield, uncommon (Attunement)
While holding this shield, you can use its charges to help negate damage to you, or an ally within 30feet of yourself. If you can see a creature being hit, you can use your reaction to use one or more charges to reduce the damage they are about to take. For each charge you are using, roll 1D10+1 and deduct that much of the damage they are about to receive. If a 1 is rolled on the die, reroll that die and use the new number even if it a 1 again. This can't be used to reduce psychic damage.
The types of attacks this shield protects you or others from are: melee weapon attacks, ranged weapon attacks, melee spell attacks, ranged spell attacks. Basically if it has a "rolls to hit" you can use this. It can't be used to subtract damage that is from something like fireball, which requires a saving throw. Nor can it be used to negate fall damage.
The shield has 6 charges, at dawn roll a D6 +1 and get that many charges back.
This shield was further enhanced by the enchanters at Glamour Hammer in Gramsby.
Discovery
While diving deep in some underground ruins within Figlin's Blunder (Black Oak Forest), this shield was found. It was the deepest point the party went into. Opening a door that said, "do not enter", after reading a note saying not to enter, this shield was found. Inside that room was riddled with fungus. Literally from floor to ceiling, over the walls mushrooms were growing. Some, stationary to the wall, but their caps following party members as they walled past them. Everything seemed very alive, and almost aware. Alas, down the hallway of this, there were a couple of dead bodies. They looked somewhat fresh, but over most their skin and visible body, mushrooms were growing off of them. This shield was laying there next to one of those bodies. The party managed to grab it and run, while much larger mushrooms, that were moving attacked them.
Appearance
The sides of it were parallel, going up and down. Coming from the tops of the sides, they arched inward to come to the point for the top. At the bottom of those parallel sides it came to a more smooth, slow curve to a point. It is silver in color, almost grayish with some darker hints to it around the boarding edge. It seems to be rather well crafted, but at glance one wouldn't guess it to be magical.
