Lord Ortvis Strehehm civilized the
Strehehm Archipelago during the Rebirth of Dawn as part of a campaign to spread the worship of the Eos Court. Thus the Strehehm archipelago, and the Strehehm Empire, was born. The empire reined for the entirety of the Rebirth, and into the early stages of the Age of Divinity. In the early years of the Age of Divinity, the religious fervor that powered the empire through the Rebirth had died out, and with that, the strength of the empire. In the 137th year of the Age of Divinity, a rebellion led by Vlasis Kostilis brought down the Strehehm Empire for good. In its place rose the League of Isles, a confederation that allowed each island of the archipelago to govern itself, but left a small governing body that could represent the entirety of the archipelago if needed. The small governing body, named the Kostilis Council, setup in the original capital city Kleanthos on the island of Haelia.
The original races of the archipelago are those of a strong and hardy nature that could endure the harsh storms of the region. These races included; Orcs, Minotaurs, and a variety of Goliath more acclimated to stormy weather than mountain heights. Upon the arrival of the Strehehm Empire humans were introduced into the archipelago, and with their introduction half-orcs came as well. The fair and small folk (elves, halflings, gnomes, etc..) only appeared on the islands due to slaving, and any of these on the island to this day are considered foreigners and weaker races.
