Yenelrath Gronulmavra Character in Mythrite | World Anvil

Yenelrath Gronulmavra

Yenelrath Gronulmavra has lived near Mythrite her entire life, unlike many of the upstarts who have come to the area looking for a quick fortune. Her mother worked for the dyers guild and Yenelrath spent her childhood in the hills collecting insects, leaves, and nutshells for her mother’s dyes. As a child she explored the marshland, hoping it might provide new vegetation for dyes and befriended a boy who lived near there. The two had plans to marry and leave the area one day, hoping to raise goats on a farm in the hills. But one day Yenelrath went to the marsh for more leaves and instead found Korf’s body, his throat slit. Horrified, Yenelrath has never married and has never returned to the marsh, shuddering whenever someone mentions the now-seedy slum that had brought her such happiness in her youth.   After her mother died, Yenelrath took over her position in the dyers Guild  and established herself in the boomtown of Mythrite. She pays local children a coin or two to collect her supplies, and spends her days in the courtyard of her building, boiling pitch and bark. At this post in the center of the yard, she has a good vantage point on her neighbors and has caught a few petty thefts over the years, threatening to boil the thief in her pot if they didn’t return the stolen goods. Everyone in the square respects Yenelrath, even if she is more blunt than polite - but they appreciate that she isn’t one to waste their time. They also respect that Yenelrath refuses to dye cloth for the Lords’ Alliance, even though they pay better and require fancier goods. Someday Yenelrath would like to be able to venture beyond the hills and find some truly extraordinary materials for her dyes, but the threat of monsters (and her reliance on a daily routine) keep her in The Halberd. She’s also getting older and, though she wouldn’t admit it to anyone in the guild, the work is getting harder with each season.
