Pavom's Icehouse

When Mythrite first exploded into being with the rush to strike Mythril first, most had their minds set on mining and exploration, but a few savvy individuals came in with other ideas to get rich. Pavom Miy, a retired fisherman, built Mythrite's first Icehouse in what would turn out to be prime territory between the Docks and the Fishery. In summers it is filled with well-insulated ice that Pavom sells to the fishermen who need to preserve their catches, and to the elite restaurants of the city where it is used for their fancy drinks. In the winter, she hires a small team of dockworkers to break the ice in the Grayflow river and haul it back to the Icehouse.
Pavom's close relation to the Wharfmaster's Offices draws the suspicions of many, but it seems to be legitimate. The merchants often pay her to take care of the ice clogging the river and stopping their ships, and the accountants in the wharfmaster's office often provide her a stipend toward that. Suspicious business dealings or not, none can deny that her consistent supply of ice in the summer keeps the food fresh (and the whole town from smelling of rotten fish.)
Pavom's only competition comes in the form of the Elyes Icehouse, which, while larger, never seems to attract the same amount of customers. Normally, this would confirm the suspicions of Pavom's corrupt ties, but most put it down to the intimidating aura of the Elyes Icehouse. Still, with Elyes expanding business and the Icehouse itself, Pavom may soon have to catch up with new contracts of her own.
