Skaeski

First known record of the skaeski is from sometime after The Cataclysm, when explorers from the mainland found their island in the Emerald Sea, populated with a people they had never seen before and great cities as if they had been there the entire time. A Skaeski stands about as tall as a human, though generally thinner. They're covered in scales of many colors, like a snake, and many sport frills and hoods of varying shapes and sizes along their head and neck. Perhaps their most striking difference is of course their serpentine lower halfs. From the waist down, instead of a pair of legs, a Skaeski has a muscular, scaled serpent's tail.   Skaeski live almost exclusively in the Skaeski Enclave, though it is not unheard of for individuals to migrate elsewhere from time to time. Those in the Enclave are secretive with outsiders, always seemingly watching what they say or reveal about their past. The gods and religions of the mainland are virtually non-existent in the enclave. If the Skaeski have a religion, it is hidden from any and all outsiders. Many Skaeski have never even considered worshiping anything, let alone devoting their lives to a 'higher' power, and thus clerics from the islands are virtually unheard of.
