Cursedmarsh

"The Cursedmarsh is a foreboding domain engulfed in mist and treacherous swamplands. The air is heavy with curses and the domain is teeming with undead creatures and malevolent spirits. The marsh is known to trap unwary travelers, leading them deeper into its murky depths, where they become lost and face the wrath of vengeful apparitions." ~ Vino Veritas
  Key Themes:   Curses, undead, treacherous marshes, lost souls   Mist obscures the path ahead or will-o'-wisps lead travelers away from the path. Travelers then can fall into sinkholes, quicksand, and hidden creatures lurking beneath the murky waters. Rolling a Nat 1 on survival checks will result in the party getting lost in the mist and returning to the point on the hex where they started.   During survival checks all party members must make a Wisdom saving throw of 10 or be charmed by will-o'-wisps. The party member will use their dash action to go off trail. A non-charmed party must first catch up to the charmed party member and then make a grappling check.   If their movement speed equal or greater than the charmed party member or they able to keep pace by some other means such as telekinesis, haste, wall of force, illusion etc., they can attempt a grappling contest with the charmed one, on success the party continues, on fail, the party will enter one of the wisp encounters.   Will-o'-wisps lead the party off the path into a D20 roll. 1-5 sinkhole, to an underground encounter. 6-10 quicksand. 11-15 water encounter, creatures luring in the murky waters. 16-20 party is lost and must find path again.

Cursedmarsh - The Swamps of Desolation

  Cursedmarsh, known as The Swamps of Desolation, is a treacherous domain located within the mist-shrouded depths of Misthaven. It is a land consumed by murky swamplands, twisted vegetation, and an ever-present sense of foreboding. The air is heavy with the stench of decay, and eerie wisps of mist cling to the ground, obscuring the path ahead and disorienting even the most seasoned adventurers.   The marsh is an intricate labyrinth of treacherous terrain, with sinkholes, quicksand, and hidden hazards lurking beneath the murky waters. The twisted trees, their gnarled branches reaching out like skeletal fingers, cast eerie shadows that dance across the marsh's surface. Strange bioluminescent fungi and haunting will-o'-wisps flicker in the distance, leading unwary travelers deeper into the domain's perilous depths.   Within Cursedmarsh, the spirits of the departed, trapped and tortured, roam the swamps as vengeful apparitions. They seek to ensnare and torment those who venture into their cursed realm, their mournful cries echoing through the mist. Dilapidated huts and half-sunken ruins stand as remnants of forgotten settlements, providing only temporary respite from the ever-present danger.  

Dark Lord - Lady Morwen, the Withered Queen:

  Lady Morwen, known as the Withered Queen, is the formidable ruler of Cursedmarsh. She resides in a decrepit and dilapidated fortress hidden deep within the heart of the swamp. Lady Morwen was once a powerful sorceress who sought eternal life but was cursed instead, her beauty withered and her life force tied to the cursed marsh.   Lady Morwen's presence is felt throughout Cursedmarsh, her dark influence extending to the very fabric of the domain. She is rumored to possess control over the undead, using them as her loyal servants and guardians. Lady Morwen is a figure of both sorrow and malevolence, forever yearning to break free from her curse and wreak havoc upon those who cross her path.   To challenge Lady Morwen and restore balance to Cursedmarsh, adventurers must navigate the treacherous swamp, avoiding deadly traps, battling hordes of undead, and unraveling the mysteries of the curse that binds the land. They must confront the withered queen in her fortress and find a way to break the curse, liberating the marsh from her dark grasp.   Only the most courageous and resilient heroes can hope to face Lady Morwen and overcome the perils of Cursedmarsh. The domain tests the willpower and resourcefulness of those who venture within its depths, but the rewards for success are great, promising not only the restoration of the land but also the liberation of tormented souls trapped in eternal suffering.
