to go home

Ann and Lenn stumbled out of the house, carrying the soul basin between them.

Stopping on the overgrown porch, Lenn looked around. "It might rain soon, we better get going."

"Yea, just be careful, we don't want to drop it." Ann responded, "The horses are still over there, which is good."

With great care they made it over to the horses, carefully stepping over dead branches and thick underbrush.

Once the soul basin was tied firmly to the horse, they saddled up and started making their way home.

Ann turned around one last time to look at the decrepit house that they had bought, then she thought about what they had found, and started smiling as she rode on.

Part six of the story that is written for Inktober 2019 (#28: Ride).
