A merchant in the City of Thamarand is selling unusual armor made of fitted pieces of bone. The merchant claims that this armor provides magical protection more powerful than that of any other armor readily available—and this seems to be true. But on the world of Varra, anything made of bone is likely to make people think of the sinister Bonelords—and if pressed, the merchant admits that the armor was created by the Bonelord Ialenar. The merchant claims his acquisition of the armor was the result of nothing more than an innocent and harmless business deal—but anyone familiar with the Bonelords knows they don't do anything that doesn't serve their real interests in some way, and the interests of the Bonelords are inimical to everyone else on Varra. Clearly there's something about the bone armor that's going to work to Ialenar's benefit; even if the merchant may be too naïve to acknowledge it, there's little doubt that the armor is some kind of trap. But it's up to the PCs to discover just what kind of trap it is, and how to defuse it, before it goes off...
