Gallery of Victory
The Gallery of Victory is a ceremonial room in the Tower of Victory, meant to be the epitome of the Tower's ode to the Empire's conquest of Earth. Situated in the centre of the ground floor, it has high arced ceilings like a cathedral, and statues of the Sovereign with humans kneeling around him.
Around the walls are projections of key moments in the invasion, played on a constant loop. The destruction of the most powerful locations on Earth. The moment the Terms of Surrender were signed. In alcoves around the Gallery are the most deeply symbolic spoils of war, including actual deceased humans, their bodies (or body parts) preserved.
The Gallery is the most despised room by the human staff in the Tower. The mere existence of this shrine to the events that devastated their species is horrible enough, but to have to enter it and tend to the exhibits is probably the most psychologically difficult task they can be set. All of them begin their terms in Tower service cleaning the Gallery.
The room serves as the Governor's most important function room when guests visit. Extra special care is taken over picking members of staff to wait on the guests; waiting staff are only appointed when they are deemed by their supervisors to be capable of serving without any kind of resistance or display of true emotions, and nowhere is that more difficult than in the Gallery. In the event of a servant breaking down or rebelling in front of anyone important, the Administration can laugh it off, but regardless, the staff member in question would be lucky to make it home in one piece at the end of their shift.
