Anatomy

The plants have dark brown twigs, with dark green leaves. The leaves have a rounded shape and have three points. The plant is a climber, but can also grow on the ground. Once a year, when the temperature is below -25 °C (or -13 °F) there will grow small soft pink flowers.

Genetics and Reproduction

The plant releases multiple seeds when the flower enters their last growing stage, this is when the temperatures are rising above the -25 °C (or -13 °F). Not all the seeds will grow into new plants, but that those not matter, as long as one seed survives.

Growth Rate & Stages

The plant has a few growing stages.

Sprout

The seed has survived and enters the first growing stage. It has developed the first twig, and a pair of very small leaves. This stage is happens in the ground, and is not visible.

Seeding

The roots started to develop more, and the twig is now appearing above ground. From this stage all the other stages are visible.

Vegetative

The twigs and leaves are growing further and bigger. This is the stage were the plant starts to climb, or if there is nothing around to climb on. It will spread over the ground, until it is big enough.

Budding

The green buds appear on the plant are appearing when the temperature starts to drop close to -25 °C (or -13 °F). This only happens when the plant is full-grown. 20 meters when it climbs, or 10 meters when it grows on the ground.

Flowering

The flowers pop open when the temperature is below -25 °C (or -13 °F). The plant is then covered with small star shaped soft pink flowers.

Releasing

This is the final stage of the plant. The flowers release multiple seeds when the temperature starts to rise again. This however does not mean that the plant dies. The plant simply goes back to the vegetative state and repeats the process.

Ecology and Habitats

The plant can only be found inside Fantaseria, because the cold weather is perfect for this plant's growth. Many other kingdoms have tried to introduce the plant, but to no avail. It simply dies when the spring sets in or it will never grow above a few meters. But this is only when the kingdom has used soil from Fantaseria.

Dietary Needs and Habits

It is not known why the soil of Fantaseria is so special. But this plant clearly needs it. The soil is tested by Wizards, but they couldn't find any special abilities. Or special components. So it is believed that the extreme cold of the kingdom is the key.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

The plant can be found all over Fantaseria, but is most common around the only Human village Iluzan. Why this is, is only hinted into a legend. That features the Castle on the hill, but no one really believes it.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

It has being rumored that the plant has healing properties, but it is not known what it heals. There are the same rumors about that the plant protects the lands from an evil, but again nobody knows what that evil is.

It is protecting the land against Black Widows and the flowers can cure their bites

It is a symbiotic plant, because it needs others to grow. But that can mean another plant, or a building, or streetlights. It those however not take away the other plant's food or life force.
