The Sleeping City

Necropolis

At the base of a mountain there is an arched doorway carved into the impressive rock. To get in is somewhat a riddle Faeila and Tauren will have to figure out, since it repels prying people. Inside is a small room with a bench cut out of the rock, a lamp with many orbs of light and a staircase descending to the deep dark labyrinth. Tunnels from one end to the other, branching off each other into other cryptic bedrooms. A voice calls for them to follow and a wisp of fading light beckons Faeila and Tauren further inside...

Exposition

Glimpse of Story
Faeila and Tauren have arrived in the city of Rothenia, Tauren's birth home. Tauren pulled the reins for his rather large bull to stop pulling the caravan and rest. "We're home, Alphie." Alphie made a deep sound, probably in relief. Faeila summons her spirit mirror to look at the image of location for their first Trial. The mirror's reflection made a ripple motion and came into focus with the image of a pathway leading to a mountain. Upon closer inspection an arched doorway looks to be built into the rock.   Looking at Tauren in hopes he would know. "Where do you suppose this is?" With a straight face he replies with a blank expression in his eyes. "No idea." Faeila's expression went from hopeful to hopeless in a blink of an eye. "How will we find it then?"   "I don't know how this thing works... but let's try something." Tauren summoned his spirit compass and flipped the cover to reveal [its inner workings]. Nothing happened. "Bring your mirror over here and see if it does anything."   Faeila took a few steps closer to Tauren with her mirror, but nothing happened. It wasn't until she placed it right underneath his compass that it spun around wildly. A map became visible to them above the compass and a stream of light carved the path to the Trial.

Past Events

The tomb called the Sleeping City was made in 100 AD and keeps growing generation after generation. Some call this place Necropolis because of the growing numbers of the dead.
Old scrolls, tattered and ripped in places as well as some light books can be found here, which tells the story of some of these people who once lived.
There is a certain memory marble that shows part of a story about the Spirit Sword.
