Elva Wood Crafters

Crafting anyting from wood has become a simple task for them, however, they trade their worksmanship for ground produced food and crystal coin, depending on what they're trading.

Culture

Culture and cultural heritage

Elva are a very family ortiented people. However, if a foreigner is not a threat to them, they will welcome that one with open arms. Be prepared to party your legs off! However, they do not take kindly to pranks as an outsider, so it is best to get familiarized first.

Art & Architecture

The Elva needed a way to design their residential buildings due to the land around them being swept up by water. Once water poors down from heaven, a trumpet will sound alerting everyone to get into their cultrually designed houseboats made to withstand the flow of water. Eventually the houseboats will begin to float on the surface of water and their journey begins until the water recedes again.   The architecture of these structures are built in similar fasion to be able to stay together while sailing. Though, all houseboats have their own artistic flair, this allows for freedom of expression or trade. This way it is easier to find a medical doctor, artist, tea shop, etc. Best of all, they don't have to go far for what they need!

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

They love their drinks be it fruity, fresh as water to good tasting alcohol.... just don't give them beer as a gift. That is a clear offense. The Elva love their parties at night, especially on a holiday. They work hard and they live life just as much.

Common Taboos

It is tabboo for an Elva to randomly jump off their own houseboat into the depths of the sea.

Common Myths and Legends

Long ago when the early Elva tribes took sail together for the first time, after many catastrophies from learning the lay of the land, they came across another obstical. Levian, shortened for Leviathin. This giant sea serpent destroyed most of the people, but they managed to put it to sleep with vigorous effort. Though they managed to defeat it the victory was a bitter-sweet one as many were mourned for a long time. However, determination set in and they became the most efficient in the woodworking trade and sharp-shooting long-bow fighters.

This is an interesting idea :D Do they move to a new location depending on where the currents carry them and then just let the houseboat settle back on the ground when the water recede?

I'm actually not sure yet. It could be that they follow the current and it will eventually lead them back to their home land, naturally. Good question!

I love the taboo of them randomly jumping off the houseboats. XD And that giving them beer is offensive. Great little details.
