Thalira Solvain
Thalira Solvain hails from the Crimson steppes, a large expanse of windswept plains to the north of the Principality of Clifia, the plains are named for the vibrant red grasses that grow there. Thalira belongs to the Heskarin Clans, they are nomadic horse riders who are renowned for their mastery of mounted archery and they have a deep connection to the natural world around them.
Thalira Solvain attire consists of a layered tunic of deep reds and other earth colours, she have a couple bone beads on her clothing and she maintains a intricate pattern symbolizing the symbols of her clan. a fur-lined cloak is draped over her shoulders and her boots are reinforced with iron studs.
Her clan, the Solvain Clan was known for their healers, diviners and spiritual guides, Thalira showed early on an aptitude for the mystic arts, she was able to commune with their spirits of the steppes through rituals, dreams and the language of the wind. When her clan was nearly destroyed and the survivors were taken into slavery by a rival tribe, Thalira was able to flee, carrying only her fathers sword, her horse and the need to continue to her clans legacy.
Those few that know her, describe her as being fiercely independent and unyielding in her opinion, having the resilience of the steppe-dwellers. When she speaks its with quiet authority, her words carrying lots of meaning and layers that are a reflection of her mystic training. Thalira are both pragmatic and deeply spiritual, she has a large respect for the forces that guide her in the world, but she is not shy about blending in practicality with her spirituality.
She has spent most of her life since the attack on her clan, wandering around the steppes, working as a wandering healer and the occasional caravan guard, her skills in both combat and mysticism have earned her a reputation and her name is well-known around the steppes and the few settlements that are spread out over the steppes, but she remains a mysterious figure to most, she never really gets close to anyone and tends to keep a distance from people around her.
I'm sad for her that she lost her whole clan like that. She must have some measure of survivor's guilt, especially for those taken into slavery.
