Tamine Material in Mirateia | World Anvil

Tamine

The Tamine rock is a rock that when mined and brought into the light of the sun or other sources of light, will begin to absorb the light and will start to generate heat and will when enough heat has been generated begin to release the heat back into the surroundings.   People through history have used the rocks to make sure that their food when served at dinner parties were kept at a constant temperature, and bathhouses usually have large rocks that are used to keep the bathwater warm for a longer time.   Small rocks don't keep the stored heat for as long as the larger ones but will recharge faster when brought into the light, the downside is that the smaller rocks don't maintain the ability to generate heat for that long compared to the large blocks used by bathhouses that can be recharged for months before losing the ability.
