Kaesonis

The Kaesonis is the name of one of the biggest cargo ships built in the Empire of Dercia.
Its original designers thought there was room for several larger cargo ships, but due to the size of the new Kesonis design, the shipyard hired to build it would first have to expand its drydocks. Due to this, the price for the design rose to a level where the project had to be put on hold until more funds could be secured. 
The project was paused for several years, but at some point, funds to continue were found, and the ship was finally beginning to take shape due to the time it had taken to secure the money. The market had shifted, and there wasn't much of a need for large cargo ships. The shipyard decided to continue with the build to at least get some of their investment back.
After two years of construction, the ship was finally ready to be launched. The shipyard had found a buyer in the shape of the House of Cartwright Merchant Guild that would use the ship to transport a large number of hides from the southern sea islands to the mainland were they were sought after due to the quality. 
Around 35 years later the ship is beginning to show its age and to the surprise of the shipyard that constructed the ship back then, the Cartwright Merchant Guild have recently reached out to the shipyard to see if it would be possible for them to construct two more of the ship-class for the company as the Kaesonis have proved to be quite profitable and this combined with the companies intension of expanding their buiesness to ports further away makes the large cargoroom onboard the ship perfect for the task.
