cervisiam tap

This little piece of technology has spread all over Mirateia and have become such a part of everybody's life that no one thinks about how it works, who invented it or if what it is used for today was its original purpose.   The cervisiam tap is more like a valve and the name is a leftover from when it was made out of wood or bone.   The cervisiam tap is used by taverns, inns and bars where it is the end of a sometimes long system that transport beer or other drinks from the casks and or barrels usually hidden away in the cellar or in a specialized room in the back of the establishment.

Utility

when the leaver on the cervisiam tap is moved through a system puts the barrel under pressure and pushes the beer or other drinks out and into the glass. This is normal and most widespread and is used for bars and such places.   It is also possible to get a tap where by using a hand pump called the Aitken tap, it's still a cervisiam tap but is viewed separately because of its usage, this tap pushes the beer into the glass, a downside to this is that this system can not be closed again so once a barrel have been outfitted with this, the content has to be consumed within a day otherwise it will spoil.

Manufacturing

The cervisiam tap is today made out of some metal, depending on the customer but in the old days, it was common to find them made out of wood or bones from large animals.

Social Impact

It made it possible for Bars, inns and Taverns to hide the barrels in a separate room instead of taking up space where it was served.
Inventor(s)
No one really knows, research suggests that it was developed around the same time in multiple places.
Access & Availability
Can be found in every inn, tavern, bar and sometimes in private homes.
Complexity
The system itself is fairly simple, it only contains a few moving parts and usually, those are easy to fix.
