The Party meet Hillfar's alchemist, Randi Stonefist, collect some hemlock for him and fight bugbears.

After a good night's sleep, the Party woke up and headed straight for the local alchemist, a dwarf named Randi Stonefist. Randi offered to help translate the mysterious dwarvish runes the Party found on the goblin map the day before, but said it would take a couple of hours. In the meantime, he asked if the Party would be willing to gather some hemlock for him. The party agreed, in exchange for half being used for health potions and poisons. The Party ventured forth into the woods, in search of hemlock. After several hours of searching to no avail, Bloodbane sensed something was not right. The lack of birds and other animals set him ill at ease. At that moment, a mighty bugbear approached and combat ensued. The bugbear deflected blow after blow, but was eventually bested by Bloodbane and Sir Didymus. Just then, three goblins made themselves known and began shooting a volley of arrows at the party. After suffering some frostbite from a Ray of Frost cantrip gone wrong, Typhon successfully froze a goblin and watched him shatter into pieces. Death nearly claimed Vigwalin, but he was able to muster his strength and watch as his poison spray brought another goblin to his quick demise. The last goblin met his death at the tip of Sir Didymus' arrows.   The Party gained 17 silver pieces and leveled up after that encounter. They also uncovered a wax seal of a prominent noble in the local area who has recently gone missing, but none of the party members were able to recognize the signet.   Upon their return to Hillfar, Randi Stonefist informed the Party that the mysterious runes translated to "The Fire Rises." Nobody in the group knew what that meant, or if it was in reference to something. Randi suggested talking to the local blacksmith about the symbol on the wax seal, as he occasionally has dealings with nobles for commissioned pieces...
